(Nervous System Computer Scan)
Chiropractors actively adjust the human body to correct subluxations. Subluxations are misalignments of the spine that interfere with nervous system function. Your nervous system is responsible for ordering and coordinating the function of every muscle, organ, tissue and gland in your body. The Insight Millennium Subluxation Station performs nervous system scans which help chiropractors locate these misalignments and the muscle imbalances that cause them. It uses technology designed by NASA to evaluate changes in the spinal muscle health of astronauts subject to launch forces and zero-gravity.
As you progress in your treatment at Movestrong Chiropractic and Rehabilitation, we’ll take regular scans of your nervous system, allowing us to optimize your care and track your progress.
Scanning is a simple, quick and painless procedure, which feels similar to an ultrasound. The Insight performs:
- a thermographic scan, which records differences in skin temperature along the spine, revealing imbalances in autonomic nervous system function (the part of the nervous system which regulates organ function).
- surface electromyography, which measures electrical muscle activity to reveal imbalances in muscle tension around the spine. This helps our team, particularly the chiropractor and massage therapist, determine which muscles are over-working, contorting the spine instead of providing stability and symmetry.
The Insight generates graphics charting this information, which show the readings in relation to the spine and recommend appropriate adjustments. This sophisticated machine increases accuracy in diagnosis and treatment.

Custom orthotics support weakened or collapsed arches, and adjust for other conditions of the foot and ankle. Testing for orthotics used to be an imprecise and time-consuming process involving mats of adjustable pins. Now, the Foot Levelers digital scanner allows our team to quickly and easily determine whether your feet provide your body with sufficient support.
The scanner instantly produces a colour image showing the weight distribution across each foot, revealing weakness or imbalance in any of the three arches. This provides clear and accurate information which can be used to determine whether orthotics or chiropractic treatment would be appropriate.

To support this exercise, we often use the THERA-BAND® Rehab and Wellness Station a compact in-clinic rehabilitation centre designed for restoring muscle and joint function, and for strength, balance, and core training.
Based on the the THERA-BAND system of progressive resistance, this rehabilitation system features a multi-dimensional, three-planes-of-movement design. It allows us to teach our clients the correct alignment and techniques for exercises that they will perform at home using the same proven THERA-BAND system of progression.
